RECYCLING AUDIT IN SHAWNEE. REPORTER: HERE AT THE WASTE MANAGEMENT FACILITY IN JOHNS COUNTY, VOLUNTEERS ARE GOING THROUGH RECYCLING FROM LOCAL BINS. TO LEARN WHAT RESIDENTS ARE PUTTING CURBSIDE. THE GOAL IS TO CUT DOWN ON CONTAMINATION. >> SEEING SOME THINGS THAT ARE KIND OF FUNNY, A TIN CAN FULL OF CIGARETTE BUTTS, NOT GOING TO GET RECYCLED, FOUND A CHICKE BONE, FOUND A DEAD RODENT, FINDING LOTS OF EMPTY PLASTIC BAGS THE KIND THAT YOU GET YOU GROCERIES IN, THOSE CAN BE RECYCLED AT A GROCERY STORE BUT CAN’T GO IN YOUR CURBSIDE BIN.
