Cumberland County on Monday said it is extending the closure of its electronics recycling center due to ongoing facility improvements.
Crews have been working on paving at the facility, but the center is now expected to be closed this week, as well.
The next time the center will be open and ready to accept electronics is on Tuesday, July 9, according to the county. The center is usually open from noon to 4 p.m. Tuesdays and Wednesdays, and from 8 a.m. to noon on the second and fourth Saturday of the month.
The center accepts electronics at a charge of 50 cents per pound, with the average customer price being $46.50 for 93 pounds of items. The center only accepts assembled TVs due to packaging and transportation reasons.
