DeKALB – In April, Lakeshore Recycling Systems is launching a hazardous household waste collection program, according to a news release.

According to the release, a scheduled date and time for pickup with be set within 48 hours of the request, excluding weekends and holidays. Instructions on packaging and where to place the materials will be provided when making the request.

Collection months for hazardous waste will be as follows:

• April (deadline to request pickup is March 31)

• July (deadline to request pickup is June 30)

• August (deadline to request pickup is July 31)

• October (deadline to request pickup is Sept. 30)

Collections will be by request only, and residents can submit theirs online at www.lrsrecycles.com or by calling 815-770-7550. Anyone wishing for additional information can also find it with that contact information.
