Rules of recycling this holiday season

WASHOE COUNTY, Nev. (KOLO) — During the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, it can be tough to remember and follow the rules of recycling.

Things like printed and foiled wrapping paper should never go into your bin and should be put into the trash instead. Also, items like ribbons, garland, tinsel, broken lights, colored plastic party cups, and greeting cards with glossy paper should go straight into the trash as well.

Things that can be recycled include; clean cardboard boxes, empty plastic soda bottles, champagne bottles, paper bags, and foil dishes with the food residue removed.
