Why doesn’t the city provide a “plastic bags” or “miscellaneous” recycling bin? : recycling

I’ve worked in recycling programs promoting and teaching people about recycling yet no one wants to shed light on items besides bottles and cardboard and I say this because most recycling companies only accept CLEAN bottles, CLEAN cardboard and CLEAN metals with no stains or oils.

Let’s be real here, people don’t have time to wash bottles, metals and clean the cardboard before sorting them from toys, electrical components and other recyclables. They definitely don’t have time to drive around the city and drop these items at separate designated recycling locations. How can we expect people to have the motivation to recycle if communities don’t do their part to teach how and provide the right tools to do so.
