The 9th grade boys basketball team poses for a photo in their new jerseys, provided by Wildcat Recycling, on Oct. 9, 2019.
El Dorado High School’s freshmen basketball team got some new digs this afternoon as a donation from Wildcat Recycling Inc.
Wildcat Recycling, a full service scrap metal recycling center that recycles both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, donated warm up tops to the team.
Chris Elia, an ad representative for Wildcat Recycling, said the business saw the team had a need and wanted to fill it.
“(We) just thought, you know, it’s a good opportunity for us to step in, make it easier on them to have one sponsor and allowing us to be a part of something as successful as El Dorado basketball,” Elia said.
Elia said the company is not only supporting El Dorado athletics, but supports schools within Union County, south Arkansas and some in Louisiana.
He said since both the company and El Dorado High School are purple and the wildcats, it was a no-brainer.
“Wildcat Recycling is supporting our youth and athletic activities,” Shannon Donaldson with Wildcat Recycling said. “(We just want) to give back to the community.”
