Each day Waste Management (WM) conducts a random audit of incoming recycling from routes throughout the county. The purpose is to identify types and volume of contamination in the recycling stream. (Brevard County Waste Management image)

BREVARD COUNTY, FLORIDA – Each day Waste Management (WM) conducts a random audit of incoming recycling from routes throughout the county. The purpose is to identify types and volume of contamination in the recycling stream.

All of the contamination must be sorted and diverted to the landfill.

The costs associated with sorting and transportation of the contaminants subtract from the value of the recyclables collected.

Please help Brevard Waste Management keep recycling going strong in Brevard county by being aware of contaminants and keeping them out of the recycling bin.

 Plastic Bags

 Soiled or wet materials

 Pizza Boxes

 Styrofoam

 Rope or Electrical Cords

 Shredded Paper
