BAY COUNTY, Fla. (WJHG/WECP) – As we move past the holidays there are still opportunities for you to turn your once live Christmas trees into something more.
There are four locations across the county to dispose of Christmas trees. (WJHG/WECP)
Bay County is still collecting Christmas trees at four locations throughout the county to be turned into household electricity.
Officials say leaving trees on the side of the road could lead to a higher risk of them catching on fire as they start to dry out.
The locations are the Sherman Avenue Recreational Complex, H.G Harders Park, the Steelfield Landfill, and the Bay County Waste-To-Energy Facility.
Officials say the parks are for residential drops and large quantities from businesses can be dropped off at the landfill or Waste-To-Energy facility.
The drop-offs will run until January 15.
