ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Bernalillo County firefighters are responding to a large fire at a recycling center in Northeast Albuquerque.

The fire is at a recycling yard on Edith, between Montano and Griegos, according to a statement on the Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office official Twitter.

A large plume of smoke could be seen rising from the area Tuesday afternoon as deputies shut off the surrounding streets.
