New E-Waste & Recycling Programs for Residents to Begin March 2 Recycle Unwanted Electronic Equipment & Styrofoam

BERKELEY HEIGHTS, NJ – Beginning March 2, 2019, Berkeley Heights residents will be able to recycle unwanted electronics and some Styrofoam free of charge.

We would like to thank the Environmental Commission for spearheading an initiative last year that helped us get about $7,200 in grant funding for the forthcoming electronics and Styrofoam recycling efforts. Fortunately, we were able to obtain the recycling containers, signs, bags and labels for these initiatives from the Union County Department of Recycling & Planning for free. This means we can use that $7,200 for additional environmental effort we will be pursuing.

“We are pleased to be able to partner with Union County to offer these programs for free to our residents,” said Mayor Angie Devanney. “We encourage all residents to responsibly recycle their electronics and Styrofoam through this convenient program.”
