POTTSGROVE STUDENTS JOIN RECYCLING EFFORT – Members of the Pottsgrove High School football team and other student volunteers (above and below) earlier this month joined in a community recycling campaign conducted by the Green Allies non-profit, which operates Althouse Arboretum in Upper Pottsgrove Township. Players and non-athletes alike helped haul quantities of electronics and scrap metal – weighty items like computers, televisions, refrigerators, ice boxes, microwaves, air conditioners, and humidifiers – from donors’ cars to collection points at the Hillside Aquatic Swim Club on West Moyer Road. The popular and well-promoted recycling work attracted residents from across the area, and at one point created a lengthy traffic tie-up, the Pottsgrove School District said Friday (March 15, 2019).
