A recycling employee was trapped for nearly two hours in a piece of equipment Thursday afternoon as first responders from around the region worked to free the victim.
The person — trapped in a metal auger 10 feet above the ground — was taken to a local trauma center with life-threatening injuries, according to Wrightsville Fire and Rescue Company 41.
The incident took place at Metaltech Recycling, 4555 Mt. Pisgah Road, in Lower Windsor Township. The company declined to comment Friday.
The call went out to York County 911 just after 1:30 p.m. Thursday for a “high angle rescue,” meaning special equipment was needed for a rescue that was off the ground.
